Our Story
What We Do
The Little Phonics Club began with a desire to make after-school time more purposeful for young children, offering enriching, educational experiences that extend beyond the classroom.

Founded by Miss Alicia, a qualified teacher with a degree in Education and a specialism in Music, the club draws on years of experience in some of London’s most respected independent schools. With a strong grasp of early literacy standards and school expectations, she created a creative space where children aged 5–7 can revisit core reading and writing skills through the arts to reinforce key concepts and improve literacy development.

Thoughtfully designed to complement school learning, the club nurtures confidence, independence, and self-expression, providing children with the foundations to thrive while offering families valuable extra reading support, especially when daily reading at home can be a challenge, through expert, high-quality guidance.
The Little Phonics Club offers expertly led, small-group sessions tailored to the individual needs of pre-prep learners. Each session delivers targeted reading and writing support aligned with classroom teaching, helping to embed key concepts and accelerate progress.

With personalised attention, ongoing assessment, and regular updates for parents, the club ensures each child receives focused support in a calm, enriching environment. Particularly valuable for families preparing for 7+/8+ entry, the club also reinforces classroom learning, enabling teachers to build confidently on secure foundations.

Beyond academic growth, the club promotes routine, resilience, and social-emotional wellbeing, offering a bespoke after-school experience that supports long-term success.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age groups is the club for?
The club is designed for children ages 5 to 7. Sessions are tailored to suit developmental stages and the phonics phase each child is working within.

How is this different from regular tuition?
Unlike 1:1 tuition, our small group sessions are curriculum-aligned and delivered through creative activities. We focus on consolidation, not acceleration - helping children secure their learning in a calm, engaging environment, that complements their classroom experience.

Will this help with 7+ or 8+ exam preparation?
Absolutely. While we don’t ‘cram’ for exams, our focus on phonics mastery, verbal confidence, and independent thinking provides children with a strong foundation for assessments and school entrance interviews.

How many children are in a session?
Each group has a maximum of 12 children to ensure individual attention, regardless of level, progress tracking, and a supportive learning environment.

Do I get feedback on my child’s progress?
Yes. You’ll receive regular updates, progress snapshots, and termly reports.

How much does it cost?
Sessions are booked on a half-termly basis - that's 6 sessions for £250. This includes all materials, progress updates, and take-home resources.
Can my child try a session before committing?
Yes! We offer free taster sessions during August 2025 so your child can experience the club and you can see if it’s the right fit for your family.
